Omaha Phase III
Phase III of the Omaha project depicts the native americans who interacted with the pioneers.
Sentinel: The Plains Indian stands as a Sentinel, watching from the high ground. Mounted on his trusty pony, overlooking the valley below for game of intruders, he is ready to take action.
Trading for Directions: On the prairies of the American heartland, frontier travelers relied on migration trails, rivers, and landmarks to cross the vast grasslands. In my work “Trading for Directions,” I am depicting the idea of a chance meeting, which happened often, between a frontiersman and a group of Native Americans. As the Natives gaze curiously at his map, the frontiersman is getting information about the best way to continue his journey
